Find Boone County Released Inmates

Boone County released inmates are no longer confirmed by a match on the live jail roster. To search for Boone County released inmates, start with the last custody system and then match the jail, court, corrections, or supervision record to the same person and case. Boone County released inmates may have returned to the community, entered state custody, moved to another jail, or remained under supervision. A sound lookup therefore uses the release reason, exact custody dates, and destination instead of relying on a missing roster name. Missouri and federal records fill different parts of that trail.

Boone County Release Meanings

A person leaves the Boone County Jail roster when the jail no longer lists that person in its current population. That change does not reveal where the person went. The Boone County Sheriff’s custody record may show a return to the community after bond, recognizance, dismissal, time served, probation, or another court order. It may instead show a transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections, another county, a federal agency, immigration custody, or a contracted placement. Each outcome removes the person from one local view, but only some are community releases.

The first task is to identify the last agency that had custody. Boone County jail records control the county episode. MODOC records control a state-prison or state-supervision episode. The Federal Bureau of Prisons covers federal prison custody, while ICE has a current detainee locator for eligible immigration cases. A court docket can explain why custody changed, though the jail or receiving agency supplies the physical movement record.

Important: Absence from Current Detainees is a clue, not proof of release. Confirm the release reason, time, and destination with the source agency.

Boone County Release Types

Boone County release language should be read in the context of one booking event. The Sheriff’s 07:00 Report can include bail, bond type, release reason, court case number, and a disposition comment. An official row that states a release reason is much stronger evidence than a no-match on the current roster. The next place to look depends on the stated result.

Release or movementWhat it meansNext record
Bond or recognizanceThe jail episode may end after the required court or bond action and release processing.Boone release record and Case.net
Dismissal or time servedA court action may end the local basis for custody.Jail exit time and court disposition
ProbationThe person may be outside jail but subject to court-ordered supervision.MODOC active search and District 6
Parole or conditional releaseA state prisoner may leave confinement while remaining in MODOC legal custody.MODOC active search and Parole Board records
Agency transferThe person changed custodians rather than entering the community. The named county, MODOC, BOP, USMS, or ICE channel

What does “discharged” mean? In a DOC context, discharge means the agency’s term of authority has ended. It is different from physical release on parole, which can leave supervision in place.

Boone County Release Record Fields

A complete request ties the outcome to a single custody episode. Name alone is not enough when records involve aliases, repeat bookings, or more than one court case. Boone’s public 07:00 Report demonstrates that the county tracks the booking time, arresting agency, bail and bond details, charges, case number, release reason, and disposition. The more complete custody-movement record should be requested when the public report does not settle the question.

FieldWhat it shows
Full name and birth detailHelps distinguish the correct person and booking.
Booking or detainee numberLinks the release to one admission event.
Arresting agencyIdentifies the agency that brought the person into Boone custody.
Booking date and timeMarks the start of the listed jail episode.
Charge and case numberConnects the custody record to the Boone court file.
Release date and timeRecords when the jail’s physical custody ended.
Release reasonStates bond, court action, transfer, or another recorded outcome.
Destination or receiving agencyDistinguishes community release from a move to another custodian.

A booking photograph helps match identity, but it does not establish current or released status. The same is true of an old charge listing. Read the release fields with the booking number and court case, then check whether a later custody event exists.

Boone County Release Volume

The Sheriff reports about 6,000 jail intakes each year. That is a bookings figure, not a count of Boone County released inmates. One person can have more than one intake, and an intake can end in transfer instead of community release. The figure is still useful because it shows why exact booking identifiers and dates matter when requesting a record.

6,000Approximate annual intakes
210 to 220Typical operating capacity
246Stated maximum capacity

The facility history gives a daily operating capacity near 210 to 220 and a maximum of 246. Classification and gender affect usable space. These numbers explain turnover and the use of overflow placements, but they cannot be used to estimate how many releases occur in a year.

Note: Boone’s published intake count and capacity figures describe jail operations, not a daily or annual released-inmate total.

Boone County Release Record Requests

The Boone County Sheriff Records Request Form is the most direct route when the 07:00 Report does not contain an explicit answer. Requests may also be made by calling the Records Unit at 573-875-1111 extension 6128 or visiting 2121 County Drive in Columbia. Ask for the booking and release sheet or custody-movement history, not merely a broad “inmate record.”

  1. Identify the person, date range, booking number, and case number when known.
  2. Request admission and release timestamps, release reason, destination, and receiving agency.
  3. Ask separately for the publicly releasable booking photograph if identity confirmation is needed.
  4. Request electronic copies and a cost estimate before the office begins chargeable work.
  5. If part is closed, ask the custodian to provide open portions with lawful redactions and cite the basis for any denial.

Missouri law permits up to ten cents per standard paper page, the average hourly clerical duplication rate, and actual research costs, using the lowest-paid employee able to do the work. Other media or nonstandard copies may be charged at actual cost. Boone provides an estimate and requires payment before release. No separate flat price for a release record or booking photograph was found.

The county must respond as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day after receipt. That deadline is for the response, not always final production. When more time is needed, the response should explain the delay and state the earliest date the record will be ready.

The captured official Sheriff request form shows the county’s actual submission channel.

The form supports a focused narrative, date range, involved person, and incident details that can tie the response to the right booking.

Boone County Release Record Law

Missouri Chapter 610 is the state Sunshine Law. Section 610.023 governs the records custodian and response timing, while section 610.026 governs charges. Section 610.100 defines arrest reports to include the arrest and related detention or confinement with the charge. Incident and arrest reports are generally open, but investigative material is generally closed until inactive, and other laws can close or redact parts of a file.

If no charge is filed within 30 days after an arrest, the arrest report becomes closed, though its disposition portion remains accessible under the statute. Juvenile material and records subject to a court order can also be withheld. These limits are why a precise request for release date, reason, and destination is more useful than a demand for every file connected to a person.

Section 610.140 allows eligible Missouri records to be expunged through a court process. An order closes covered agency records and makes covered court files confidential. No guaranteed public retention period was found for Boone’s online reports. Historical access in an interface should not be treated as a legal promise that the same record will remain online.

Boone County Release Timing

Boone County Jail processes intake and release 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That does not create a fixed release hour. Four mandatory count periods can restrict movement, and emergencies may delay processing. A bond posting or court order can therefore appear before the person physically leaves the facility. The exact Sheriff release timestamp resolves that gap.

The public jail entrance sits behind the Sheriff’s main entrance. County instructions identify it by a lighted flagpole and signs that direct visitors toward jail parking and the entrance. These details help a person arriving for a bond transaction, but they do not prove that processing is complete or that a release will occur at a set time.

Note: A court or bond time can differ from the physical exit time because jail counts and emergency operations affect movement.

Boone County Bond Release Process

The Boone County Jail accepts bonds at the public jail entrance around the clock. Transactions are handled first come, first served, subject to mandatory counts and emergencies. The allowed method depends on the bond type. County instructions describe cash, cashier’s check, major payment cards, or surety through an approved bonding company as possible methods. A card payment uses CourtMoney, and the Sheriff states that Boone County does not collect the card transaction fee.

Property bonds are more limited and involve the Boone Circuit Clerk. The Clerk supplies current information about approved surety writers and property bonds during its weekday office hours. A bond order does not by itself establish the moment of release. Match the case entry with the jail’s completed release time and release reason.

Find Boone County Released Inmates

A reliable search begins with custody, not a broad name result. Boone’s Current Detainees report answers whether a matched person was listed in local custody when the report ran. The 07:00 Report can show a rapid release for someone booked in its prior-day cohort. Neither product serves as a complete historical release archive.

  1. Search Current Detainees and note the report run time. A match means the person is listed in current Boone custody.
  2. Check the 07:00 Report when the booking fits its prior-day window. Match the case and read the release reason and disposition.
  3. Request the Boone custody-movement record for the exact release time, reason, and destination.
  4. Use Case.net and the 13th Judicial Circuit record to explain bond, dismissal, probation, time served, or commitment.
  5. Switch to MODOC, BOP, or ICE only when the record points to that system, then confirm any unclear result with the responsible office.

A spelling variant, alias, old booking, or transfer can cause a name not to appear where expected. Compare birth details, booking time, arresting agency, charge, and case number. The Released Last 24 Hours page explains Boone’s same-day cohort limits, while the full named-person decision remains rooted in the custody record.

Boone County 07:00 Release Clues

Boone’s 07:00 Report covers people incarcerated between 07:00 and 07:00 during the prior day. Its inclusion rule is booking time, not release time. A person booked earlier and released today may be absent. No dedicated Boone County 24-hour release cohort and no official 72-hour release feed were found.

The report is still valuable because a matched row may contain a mugshot, booking time, arresting agency, bail, bond type, release reason, charge, case number, and disposition comment. An explicit release value can confirm the outcome of that booking. A blank field cannot confirm either continued custody or release.

The official Boone 07:00 Report capture shows the county product and its field layout.

Read it as a booking cohort with possible release details, then obtain the Sheriff record when the exact exit or destination matters.

Boone County Court Release Handoff

The 07:00 Report includes a court case number and disposition comment. That creates a direct handoff to Case.net. The court file may show bond, recognizance, dismissal, a plea, jail credit, time served, probation, commitment, an amended judgment, or probation discharge. Those entries explain the legal event that changed custody.

The court and jail answer different questions. A bond order can precede posting and release processing. A dismissal can end the legal basis for detention without stating when the person crossed the jail exit. A prison sentence can mean transfer, not community release. Use the Sheriff timestamp for physical release and the docket for the legal reason. Contact the Boone Circuit Clerk when a public document is not available remotely or the docket wording is unclear.

Boone County Release Notifications

Missouri now uses MOVANS for custody and court notifications. The state brought the system in-house on May 5, 2026. Phone calls and the VINELink App ended at that transition, and current delivery uses SMS text or email. Historical instructions about a telephone PIN do not describe the current workflow.

MOVANS may cover a Boone jail subject, Missouri court matter, or MODOC offender. Search the specific person or case, compare the identifiers, choose the relevant event, and register for the offered text or email notice. A custody change can mean transfer as well as community release, so confirm the reason and destination with Boone records or MODOC.

Boone County adds a local channel through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Victim Services page. Eligible users are directed to call the Sheriff at 573-875-1111 for notice when a defendant posts bond, is released, or escapes. MOVANS help is available at 573-526-1929 or movans@dps.mo.gov on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Boone County Federal Release Paths

The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 to the present. A result such as “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” often with a release date, confirms departure from BOP custody only. The person may be held by another system or remain on federal supervised release.

The ICE Online Detainee Locator is a current-location tool. It can be searched with an A-number and country of birth, or with name, date of birth, and country. A no-result can reflect release, transfer, recent processing, an identifier mismatch, or access limits. It is not a historical release archive. No public USMS historical released-person locator was verified, so a Boone record showing a federal transfer should be followed through the federal docket and receiving facility.

Note: Federal and immigration locators apply only when Boone’s record or case history points to that custody system.

Boone County Release Status Checks

Still in Boone custody? Use Current Detainees and note its run time. A strong identity match is evidence of current local custody at that moment.

Released or moved from Boone? Use the release or custody-movement record. It supplies the exit time, reason, and destination that a roster cannot provide.

Outside prison under Missouri supervision? Use the MODOC active search, then confirm with District 6 or the responsible institutional office. A discharged former DOC case belongs in the Sunshine file and DOC records process.

Federal departure? Use BOP only for a federal prisoner. Pair its status with the federal case and any later custodian. Each system proves only its own part of the custody trail.

Parole
Release from prison under Parole Board authority and continued supervision.
Probation
Court-ordered community supervision, often used instead of an executed prison term.
Conditional release
A supervised portion of certain Missouri prison sentences.
Time served
A court disposition that credits custody already completed toward the ordered term.
Detainer
A request or hold that may lead to transfer or continued custody by another authority.

Boone County Jail Release History

The current Boone County jail complex opened on February 28, 1991. The Sheriff’s history describes an initial layout with 134 custody beds and 50 work-release beds. Boone divested its work-release program in 1999, contracted with Reality House, renovated space, and later reported a total detainee capacity of 210.

Reality House and facilities in Cooper, Chariton, Howard, Callaway, Randolph, and Montgomery counties have served as overflow placements. This history explains why destination fields are central to a Boone County release check. A name missing from the main roster may reflect a contract placement or transfer rather than release to the community. The Boone movement record should state whether the person moved, returned, or left custody.

Boone County Detention Release Facility

Boone County Jail, also called the Boone County Adult Detention Facility in county budget material, is the county’s central adult detention site. It is operated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 2121 County Drive, Columbia, Missouri 65202. Adult men and women may be held there before trial, before sentence, after sentence, or on a civil commitment.

No separate current Columbia municipal jail, MODOC prison, BOP prison, or ICE detention center in Boone County was established by the official sources reviewed. Local police arrests can still enter the Boone County system. State and federal portals become relevant only after the Boone release record identifies a transfer, prison commitment, or supervision path.
