Privacy Notice

This notice describes what Boone County Released Inmates receives when someone browses the site, submits a message, or uses a search feature. It also explains why data is used, which service providers may receive it, and the limits of online security. By using the site, a visitor accepts the practices stated here. Official Boone County Sheriff, Missouri Department of Corrections, court, MOVANS, federal, and ICE services maintain their own systems and apply their own privacy rules.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Boone County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms control its receipt and use of the query.

Messages Sent to Us

An email or contact submission may include the sender’s name, return address, and message. We retain that information as needed to read, route, and answer the inquiry. A message is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent
  • The referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time records for each request

Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support advertising or analytics. Most browsers allow cookies to be removed or blocked. Turning them off may change how some site or partner features work.

How Information Is Used

  • Operate the pages and improve load performance
  • Send a search request to the selected partner service
  • Measure which Boone County record topics help visitors
  • Detect errors, abuse, and other technical problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect general interests

Websites Beyond Our Control

Links may lead to Boone County release records, Sheriff pages, Case.net, MODOC, MOVANS, BOP, ICE, or a third-party search service. The destination’s own privacy notice applies after a visitor leaves this site. Missouri Chapter 610, including the custodian duties in section 610.023, concerns access to government records. It does not replace the separate privacy terms of this private site or an outside provider.

Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing takes place through the provider’s systems and is governed by its controls and policy.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach the service providers or authorities needed to operate the site or comply with law:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use
  • Advertising networks that deliver and assess ads
  • Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Reasonable Security Measures

Common administrative and technical safeguards are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet-connected service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive personal details that are not needed for an inquiry.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Ask that eligible personal data be erased
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing where applicable
